Please join the Italian Cultural and Community Center and the Italy-America Chamber of Commerce Texas as they welcome Mayor of Montepulciano Andrea Rossi for an evening of classic Tuscan food, wine, and conversation.

Mr. Rossi will be visiting Houston as part of a U.S. tour promoting Tuscany's best-kept secret: The Chiana River Valley, also known as the Valdichiana (VAHL dee KEE-ah-nah) or Val di Chiana.

While many Italian travelers are familiar with major attractions like Siena, Florence, and Arezzo, few realize that the valley that lies between them is dotted with breathtaking hilltop villages dating back to the Middle Ages. This undiscovered corner of Tuscany teems with natural beauty, local food traditions and food products, and, of course, local wine — the celebrated Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, one of Italy's most famous expressions of Sangiovese (known locally as Prugnolo Gentile).

It's also an area renowned for its hot springs and spas, not to mention its picturesque towns with their medieval masonry and pageantry.

The Valdichiana is a "must-see" for any seasoned Italian traveler and a great place for novice tourists to begin their true Tuscan experience.

Please join us and a select group of Houston-based food and wine professionals, tour operators, and writers as we set out to explore this undiscovered Tuscan gem.

Classic Valdichiana fingers foods will be served and will be accompanied by Vino Nobile di Montepulciano (food by Sud Italia).

This event is open to tour operators, travel bloggers,
food and wine bloggers, and food and wine professionals.
Veteran Italy travelers are also welcome.
